Earthquake Prediction Is this the Right way?
INILAH.COM, Jakarta - An earthquake is an unpredictable disaster that anyone or any instrument. But the scientists found it shocking that might be a predictive tool. What is it?
The atmosphere above the epicenter of Japan and then heated up significantly a few days before the disaster broke.
Before the disaster (11 / 3), total electron content of the atmosphere called the ionosphere increased dramatically just above the epicenter of the earthquake and reached a maximum level of three days before the quake struck.
It is believed, moments before the quake, the pressure on geological plates in the Earth's crust cause large amounts of radon gas out. This radioactive gas that ionizes the air. Then, this gas makes the water molecules in the air condenses into water.
Excessive heat in the form of infrared radiation is recorded takes three days before an earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter Scale (SR) rupture.
"The first results on March 8, satellite, infrared radiation emanating quickly," said Dimitar Ouzounov scientists from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland, United States (U.S.).
Considering Japan is a 'hot spot' quake, scientists create the atmosphere and supervisory stations using satellites to measure the state of the atmosphere before earthquakes. Hopefully these findings can be used to predict earthquakes. [Mor]
