Two countries, Cambodia and Thailand, will make Notoharjo Klithikan Market as a pilot project for community-based economic development. Secretary General United Cities and Local Goverments (UCLG) for Asia Pacific, Rudolf Hauter, who have met Solo Mayor Joko Widodo on Friday (21/1) stated that Indonesia became one of the countries selected for review and assessment of community-based economic development based. “And Solo is selected as a pilot project, considering the success in managing the city and relocating street vendors (informal traders) without violence into their attractiveness,” the secretary added.
UCLG team will come to Solo to do a comparative on Notoharjo Klithikan Market in May to September and the results will be applied in the Cambodia and Thailand.
